APPSC Group 1 Syllabus 2022 For English Subject :

LETTER WRITING (10 marks). In this applicants have to write a formal letter of near about 100 words in which they need to express their wording about the given topics. However, the topic given can be from any social problems, officer matters, etc.

ESSAY (20 marks). Aspirants have to write 200 words minimum. Then, the maximum limit for writing an essay has 250 words. In the examination, there may be five topics given on a list in which aspirants can opt for one topic. Topics can be from subjects such as current affairs, analytical philosophy, descriptive, etc.

REPORT WRITING (15 marks). In this section, they need to make a report of 150 words about the event or survey or official function, or field trip. So be careful while making the report.

PRESS RELEASE or APPEAL (10 marks). Due to this aspirants have to write an appeal of about 100 words which should be based on the recent concern, rumors, problems, disasters, etc.

FORMAL SPEECH (15 marks). In addition to other topics aspirants have to write a speech in near about 150 words related to a formal function. So the speech can be either from inauguration or an educational seminar/ conference or about the formal ceremony important.

READING COMPREHENSION (15 marks). So in this section, they need to check 250 words of the passage, read it. After that, they need to give answers to the short question asked in the exam.

WRITING ON VISUAL INFORMATION (15 marks). Due to this write report of around 150 words which can be based on an image, graph, table of comparison, flow chart, or simple statistical data. So read all the information carefully.

TRANSLATION (15 marks). So in this section applicant have to translate the short passage from the regional language to the English language which should be near about 150 words.

PRECIS WRITING (15 marks). Due to this candidates have to check a precise of around 100 words from a 300-word passage given by the board.

ENGLISH GRAMMAR (20 marks). It consists of topics such as Synonyms and Antonyms, Tenses, Narration (Direct-Indirect), Use of Articles and Determiners, Voice, Words that confuse homonyms and homophones, Administrative Glossary, Transformation of sentences, Cohesive devices or Connectives or Linkers, Affixes, Use of Prepositions, Use of idiomatic expressions, Use of Phrasal verbs, One-word substitution.

Firstly, FORMAL SPEECH (10 marks). So it should be based on the speech which can be related to farewell, welcome speech, inauguration. Because of this, this speech can be used for the press conference which can be different topics like health-related, topic energy, pollution, farm credit, etc.

After that, ESSAY (20 marks). So it should be a minimum of 200 words and the maximum word limit allowed in this section has 250 words. Due to this, you need to choose any topic in the given list of five topics such as Current affairs, descriptive, philosophical, analytical, etc.
